Start at the edge of the spill and work inward so that you don't spread the spill. Once the cleaner has had time to work, use a paper towel to blot up the cleaner. If you use a lot of cleaning solutions, you may want to leave a towel on top of or under the rug to get it dry again.

Get a Professional Cleaning

Every couple of years, you should have a thorough professional cleaning of the rug. If you get a lot of foot traffic on the rug, you may want to have it cleaned about once a year.
